How Gakuran character creation works: the rare Mogger Face, hair colours and white hair, ethnicity, names, and how height affects combat. Community-reported — verify in-game.
When you join (学乱) Gakuran, the game builds you a randomly generated student — name, gender, ethnicity, height, hairstyle, hair colour and face are all rolled for you. None of it is locked: community guides report you can reroll individual traits during creation to shape the character you actually want. This page explains how each part of the roll works so you know what you can and can’t control.
Faces are reported to be chosen from a gender-based pool — a male face list and a female face list — with every face in the pool equally likely, independent of ethnicity. The one players hunt for is the “Mogger Face.” Several dedicated guides describe it as a distinct, rare roll of roughly 1%* (about 1 in 100), and the name borrows the internet “mogging” slang for a dominant good look. Because that 1% figure is community-reported and not published by the developers, treat it as unofficial until you confirm it in-game. For the full odds-by-roll-count table, reroll cost and step-by-step, see our how to get the Mogger Face guide.
Your hairstyle is drawn from the pool for your ethnicity and gender, and your hair colour normally comes from that ethnicity’s natural palette. The twist: there’s a reported ~5% chance* your character rolls a “dyed” colour from outside the natural set — white, red, pink, purple, green or teal. That’s why vivid hair is uncommon, and why white hair in particular reads as a rare dyed roll rather than something you can reliably pick.
Because both hairstyle and colour are ethnicity-linked, a European character draws from the European hairstyle pool and a wider natural colour range — black, brown, blonde and auburn shades — rather than the mostly-black palette a Japanese roll pulls from. There’s no menu to hand-pick a specific European style; you get the European pools by rolling European ethnicity, which you can reroll in the Stats menu (reported ~5% combined chance* across all five non-Japanese ethnicities, so it can take several tries). Like every appearance trait, hair is purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect combat — only height does that.
Gakuran’s world is Japanese by design: community sources report about a 95% chance* to roll Japanese, with roughly 5% shared across every other ethnicity. The reported options are Japanese, European, African, Middle Eastern, Latinx and Indian. Ethnicity matters because it’s reported to drive your available surnames, your hairstyle and natural hair-colour pools, and your average height. If you’re after a specific look, your ethnicity roll is the biggest lever you have.
Your first name is typed by you (reported limit: 3–12 characters*). Your last name works differently — it’s picked from a large set of preset surnames tied to your ethnicity. Community guides put the total at around 4,428 preset surnames*, distributed roughly as: European 838, Latino 795, Middle Eastern 769, Indian 755, African 712, Japanese 559. These exact counts are secondary-source and worth verifying in-game. Stuck on what to type? See our Gakuran name ideas — tough, cool and unisex picks that fit the setting.
This is the one appearance stat that changes how you fight. Multiple independent guides report that height materially affects combat: taller characters deal more damage, have more HP, and get a larger hitbox and reach — but move and attack more slowly; shorter characters are faster with a smaller hitbox but hit for less and have less HP. Height is reported to be rerollable, so if you plan to fight seriously it’s the trait most worth rerolling with intention. There’s no single “best” height — pick shorter for fast rushdown, taller for heavier trades.
Beyond the roll, Gakuran offers accessories and uniform/clothing options to finish your delinquent-school look. The full accessory list and any unlock requirements are still being documented and change as the game updates — we’ll expand this section once we’ve confirmed items in-game rather than list unverified names.
The Style (fighting style) reroll is the well-documented one at 5 Robux from the Stats menu. Community guides report other traits can also be rerolled during creation, but costs beyond Style aren’t clearly documented — verify current prices in-game before spending. For a keep-or-reroll verdict on your fighting style, run the numbers in the Style Reroll Simulator.

“Mogger Face” is the community name for a rare face players chase in Gakuran — multiple guides describe it as a distinct, roughly 1-in-100 (~1%) face roll, and the term borrows the “mogging” looksmaxxing slang for a dominant good look. Because the exact drop rate is community-reported and not from the developers, treat the ~1% figure as unofficial and verify it in-game.
Yes. Hair colour is normally pulled from your ethnicity’s natural palette, but there is a reported ~5% chance your character instead rolls a “dyed” colour outside that palette — white, red, pink, purple, green or teal. White hair is one of those rare dyed rolls, which is why it stands out.
Ethnicity is reported to shape your available surnames, your hairstyle and natural hair-colour pools, and your average height. The world is overwhelmingly Japanese (community-reported ~95% Japanese, ~5% every other ethnicity combined), so non-Japanese rolls are uncommon unless you reroll.
Hairstyle and hair colour are tied to ethnicity, so a European roll draws from the European hairstyle pool and a wider natural colour range — black, brown, blonde and auburn — instead of the mostly-black Japanese palette. You can't hand-pick a specific European style; you get the European pools by rolling European ethnicity (reroll in the Stats menu; reported ~5% combined chance across the non-Japanese ethnicities). Hair is cosmetic and doesn't affect combat.
Most appearance traits are rolled when your character is generated, and community guides report you can reroll individual traits during character creation rather than being locked in. Costs beyond the Style reroll are not clearly documented — verify current costs in-game.
