Sources & Updates

How Gakuran Wiki verifies its facts: official Roblox sources, gameplay footage, a transparent change log, and honest notes on conflicting player-count data.

How we verify

Gakuran Wiki is a fan resource. We cross-check facts against the official Roblox experience page, the Creator Exchange listing, and gameplay footage. Community-opinion items (like tier letters) are labelled as such, and anything unverified is flagged. We never publish fake codes.

Change log

UpdateChange
July 15, 2026Reverse-targeted the head terms "gakuran surnames / last names" on the name ideas page (retitled the surnames section and explained the ~4,428-name, ethnicity-linked system), and added a European hairstyles & colours section + FAQ to the character-creation guide (ethnicity-linked hair pools, the wider European colour range, and how to roll it). Both are cosmetic-only, with data flagged community-reported.
July 15, 2026Expanded the Gakuran name ideas page with a "European last names" section for that rising long-tail — the ethnicity-linked surname counts (European is the largest pool at ~838*), illustrative example European surnames (clearly flagged as examples, since the developers don't publish the full pool), and the community-reported detail that nameplates render surnames in Japanese script (kanji if known, otherwise katakana). Added a matching FAQ.
July 14, 2026Added a Gakuran name ideas page for the rising "gakuran names" search — curated tough, cool and unisex first-name lists that fit the 2005-Japan setting, plus surname flavour for roleplay and how the in-game name system actually works (you type the first name; the surname is preset by ethnicity). Deliberately distinct from the character-creation names section, which explains the roll rather than suggesting names. Cross-linked both ways and from the wiki hub.
July 14, 2026Published a new Gakuran scripts safety page in response to a fast-rising "gakuran script" search (dozens of daily YouTube uploads and script-site listings for auto-parry/ESP/"get any style" exploits). It's a truthful, no-download page: we don't host or link scripts, we explain why they're bannable exploits and a malware/account-theft risk, and we point to the legit ways to get the same results (real weaving/parrying, the tier list, and the reroll simulator). Linked from the wiki hub and the Codes debunk section.
July 14, 2026Refreshed the Codes page after the July Map Update. Major code trackers (Beebom, Pro Game Guides, Game Rant, Destructoid and others) now agree on four active reroll codes — LARPSIMULATOR and MAPUPDATE (25 rerolls each), Uma (10) and Son (5) — while the earlier 15REROLLS and GAKURAN are now reported expired. Replaced the two-code reported list with the new four-code table plus an expired-codes table, and updated the homepage feed, FAQ, and start-route module. Still reported-not-verified: we can't redeem in-game from here, so we flag them as reported by trackers until we confirm.
July 9, 2026Added Google Analytics 4 (site-wide traffic measurement) to complement Google Search Console — lets us see which pages actually earn visits so we scale on data, not guesses.
July 9, 2026Shipped a dedicated how to get the Mogger Face guide — the rare ~1% face roll players chase. Adds a real chance-by-reroll-count table (1 − 0.99N: ~50% by 69 rolls, ~63% by 100, ~87% by 200), an expected Robux-cost table at the reported ~2 Robux/roll, step-by-step face-reroll instructions, and honest flags that the 1% rate and reroll price are community-reported, not official.
July 7, 2026Updated the "Is Gakuran gone?" status page — community coverage attributes the late-June takedown to a Roblox content-rating (maturity) mismatch, not a deletion, with developers saying it's being restored and the official group back (~2M members). Refreshed the homepage alert, updates feed, and group stat. Also shipped a new character creation & appearance guide and corrected the wiki to note height affects combat.
July 7, 2026Revised our codes stance. By mid-July a wave of major outlets (Pro Game Guides, Game Rant, PCGamesN and others) reported 15REROLLS and GAKURAN as active reroll codes, redeemed from a Codes section in the in-game menu — a menu our earlier checks hadn't found. Since we can't redeem in-game ourselves to confirm either way, we stopped calling them fake and reframed the Codes page to "reported by major sites, unverified by us — test in-game." We'll mark a code verified only once we redeem it.
July 7, 2026Overhauled the controls and combat guides to the current community consensus: consolidated the old two-scheme keybind list into one agreed set (flagging only the R-vs-T stance conflict) and documented the real M1 / M2, block-and-posture, parry, and dodge i-frame system (M2 heavies are unblockable). Flagged newly-reported styles (Karate, Wrestling, Slugger) and the perk system on the tier list and fighting-styles pages as reported-not-yet-verified.
Site launchCodes status, tier list, controls (both schemes), styles, wiki database, and the Style Reroll Simulator.
Verification passVerified: no active codes; 3 confirmed styles (Boxing/Muay Thai/Hakari); 5-Robux style reroll; group-gate required.
June 29, 2026Re-checked codes across YouTube, Reddit, and major guide sites — still no real codes and no redeem menu. Added a "codes you've seen online — debunked" section to the Codes page (exploit scripts, recycled lists, Robux scams).
July 6, 2026Re-checked codes after a July wave of guide sites began listing "GAKURAN" and "15REROLLS" as active reroll codes. At the time we couldn't find an in-game Codes box, so we flagged them as unverified and added copy-and-test buttons plus an FAQ. (Superseded by the July 7 revision above as more outlets reported a redeem menu.)
June 29, 2026Added an interactive, tap-a-zone school map (combat-on vs green-zone, with per-area tips) to the School Map page.
June 29, 2026Added verified YouTube publish dates (uploadDate) to the embedded video schema, resolving a Google Search Console "missing field" notice and restoring video rich-result eligibility.
June 29, 2026Players began reporting the Gakuran experience and official Roblox group as unavailable. Published a cautious, community-reported "Is Gakuran gone?" status page — separating confirmed facts from rumour — and added a homepage alert. Status unconfirmed pending official word; page will be updated as the situation clears.
